A potential employee should have a Bachelor's degree or higher from a properly accredited college or university in the US or Canada, in one or more of the appropriate disciplines. Candidates must demonstrate appropriate professional and personal skills particular to the profession, region and industries served.

Positions require the ability to walk for 10 hours per day in rough terrain, the ability to carry up to 40 lbs, to oftentimes deal with variable and inclement weather conditions, be able to sit, stoop, bend, and climb, and to use hand tools, shovels and screening and other field equipment.
